Janet Marie Ryan

She is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Mary Hamant; Husband, William C. Ryan; Brother, Joe Hamant; and grandchild Sean Reardon. She is survived by her stepchildren: Kim Ryan, Denise (William) Mason, William (Shawn) Ryan, Kevin Ryan, and Tim Ryan, and her siblings Jim (Eva) Hamant, and Judith (Arturo) Ortiz. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Janet graduated from Xenia High School and went on to study at the University of Dayton. After graduating in 1966, she worked as a teacher for Dayton City Schools for 32 years. In her free time, Janet loved to volunteer at Kettering Hospital and accumulated over 7,000 hours in her 42 years of volunteer work. She also felt very strongly about St. Jude’s Children’s hospital’s mission and frequently donated to their cause. Janet was very crafty and creative and enjoyed playing cards. She also loved to travel and go on cruises. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 17th at Church of the Incarnation. The family will privately lay Janet to Rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any charity of your choice, as Janet loved to give and help others.
