I met Jeannie when I was as a student under Ar Evanston Leong and she was a CRU staff at UH. She was beautiful, warm and funny. She showed us the rayon long sleeved shirt that she had fried in a hot dryer.
I read that she had breast cancer and was waiting for a good update. I’m so sorry for your loss, Mark and family.

I was so heavy-hearted to hear of your loss. Jeannie was such a lovely person and lives on through her beautiful family and all those she touched and in so many other ways. I was so sad that due to a long-standing medical appointment I was unable to make it down from Dayton to her Memorial service Friday, but Heidi and I send our full-hearted love to Mark and all the family.

I loved Jean. She was such a smart, vibrant woman. I loved teaching her sons and having Ted in my home with Aaron. I’m so glad you young men have wives and children of your own to comfort you. She was a beautiful soul, and I know how much she loved you all. I loved seeing pictures of her grand babies. I’m just so sorry that she was so sick.  When we become too ill to live anymore in this realm, God takes us to the home not prepared by hands. Praise God!  We have the promise of eternal life. I know she will live on in your hearts and minds. She certainly reared a fine set of boys and one beautiful girl!  

Although we have lived far apart for many recent years, Jean was such a positive influence in my life. I looked up to her faith and insights.   Matt and I are thinking about you  Mark and your family and pray for peace and comfort in this time. 

We will always remember our trip to Aladdin, and will think of Jeanie whenever we have mujadara.  We miss you now, Jeanie, but look forward to the time when we can share a meal together, again.

Jean served as the Chapter Director of the Miami Valley Ohio Chapter of Prevent Blindness.  All of us loved working with Jean and she taught us all a great deal about managing a non-profit.  Prevent Blindness will always be grateful to have had Jean as a member of our team.  She and I never had a conversation that didn't include a story about her children.  She loved to talk about them and she often shared her experiences with me anytime I asked for her motherly advice in dealing with my children.  We've been missing Jean since she retired and we will forever miss her and cherish the time we had with her.

I didn't know Jean but I send my heartfelt condolences to the family.  May your memories of her always be with you so you'll never feel alone.  Darla Titus (UD)

My heart is breaking over the loss of this generous, strong, big-hearted, creative woman -- an excellent writer and a dear friend. So shocked and saddened, even after being in touch with Jean over the course of her arduous journey, which she navigated with her characteristic courage and compassion. I remember an Easter spent with Mark, Jeanie, their children and some of Jeanie’s family members.  Although having her own family to feed, she included ours so we could be with others during the holiday.  Jeanie was a no nonsense, determined, generous person.  I will always remember and give thanks for the time our worlds combined.  Rest In Peace Jeanie!

My prayers are with you and Jean. I enjoyed the time I had working as a volunteer with Jean when she was the PBO Marketing Director for the Dayton Market. I thought she was excellent at her work. She would always drop off the Vision Screening machine to my home so I would not have to travel to Dayton to get it when I was needed to do Vision Screening at a Health Fair. We managed to stay in touch through Facebook after she left for health reasons.

My brother in law played for the Green Bay Packers in 1969 and Jean would talk about her son who also  played for the Packers. This made it an easy transition for me to work with Jean. She will truly be missed.

Jeanie was a friend of mine since 6th grade.  We were neighbors for a few years and skiing buddies too.  We have kept in contact over the years through Christmas Cards and Facebook and watched our families grow!  Rest In Peace dear friend!
