

BINEGAR, Jeannette (nee Thompson), age 88, known affectionately as Miss Jan, died after sudden illness in Phoenix, AZ on January 2nd. Born in Lebanon, OH, preceded in death by her brother, Darrell and sister, Dorothy Harris. In 1950 she married the love of her life, Darrell Binegar, who died in 1997. She is survived by her son Tim and daughter Rebecca, both of Phoenix, and grandson David of Los Angeles, CA. Jan’s extended family includes devoted friends Tom and Peggy Leckrone, their sons Pete and Kenny, great niece Amy Binegar and son-in-law Gregg Roenker. Jan began her career as a teacher and ran Darrell’s office during his entire career with State Farm. Until her death, Jan was an enthusiastic 16 year volunteer and advocate for Hospice of Dayton and long-time member of Beaver United Church. Jan was passionate about Little League baseball and loved her Cincinnati Reds. She will be missed by a network of friends of all ages. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave (Far Hills at Rahn). Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Tobias followed by interment at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery in Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Hospice of Dayton and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
