
He was born March 12, 1950 in Oneida, KY to Nettie (Barrett) and Homer Lovins.
Jennings graduated from Wright State University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and went on to earn a Master’s in Public Administration, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. Jennings was an accomplished Major in the United States Army. Among many honors, he completed Airborne and Ranger school, and served in the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Above all Jennings was a strong and faithful Christian dedicated to God and his family, whom he loved with all his heart.
Jennings was a generous and kind man, who was willing to go out of his way for the one’s he loved and cared for. He was a disciplined, serious-minded and courageous man, who could also be light-hearted and funny. Jennings is survived by his daughter, Jennifer and her husband, TJ McGuire; His son, Chad and his wife, Nichole Lovins (Hancock); his four beautiful granddaughters, Karlianne Lovins, Nora McGuire, Claire McGuire and Addison Lovins. He is also survived by his mother, Nettie Lovins, and his father, Homer Lovins; his brother, Kenneth Lovins, and his sister, Jeannie Harrod. He was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife, Joanne Lovins (Karlos) with whom he is now reunited. Friends and Family are welcome for visitation from 12 pm - 1 pm, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Kettering, Ohio. The memorial service and funeral will be held immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Wright-Patt Credit Union to the Jennings Lovins Contribution Fund Account to help the family with funeral costs.
