

SIMPSON, John Stanton, age 74, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1937 in Dayton Ohio to the late John and Ellen (Miller) Simpson. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Constance H. Simpson; two children, John Jeffrey Simpson of Denver CO, and Michael A. Hall of Dayton; a brother, Gerald Miller Simpson of Denver CO. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Elaina A. Hall and Emma M. Hall both of West Carrollton; and one niece, Heather Suzanne of Philadelphia PA. John graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1957 and Sinclair College in 1959. He worked at Standard Register for 40 years retiring with the position of Senior Project Engineer. A member of Knights Inn of Dayton ( KID) Belmont Chapter for many years. He was a Mason and belonged to Alpha Lodge #729. John was a member of the F.O.E (Fraternal Order of Eagles) Aerie #321 and F.O.M (Fraternal Order of Moose) Lodge #73. John was a long time blood donor and served on the board of directors for Community Tissue Services. John also served as “Den Mother” for son Jeff’s Cub Scout troop. At a young age John started playing golf at DP&L “McGregor” Park and played in the Ohio State Tournament which was the tournament that Jack Nicklaus won in 1956. In his free time John enjoyed playing golf and researching Dayton history. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00AM at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave, Dayton 45420. Pastor Ric Barnes of First Lutheran of Troy will officiate services. A gathering of friends will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service on Friday.
