Johnavieve Lyda Trickey

Johnavieve was born June 26, 1935, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at Sioux Valley Hospital to parents Henry and Helen Walser. She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Ray N. Trickey, happily married for 69 years; and children Katherine (Trickey) Mayer and husband Corey, Michael Trickey and wife Diane, Steven Trickey and wife Sally, Susan (Trickey) Ferrari and husband Martin, Patricia (Trickey) Wesdorp and husband Thomas, Robert Trickey and wife Rebecca, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Johnavieve graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1953. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1956. She worked for 43 years at various hospitals and retired in 1999 from Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. She especially enjoyed Obstetrical Nursing. After retiring from nursing, she worked five years at the Miamisburg Library.

She had many interests including Curves, TOPS, Bingo and Church. She especially loved gardening and worked many hours in her garden each year.

Johnavieve will be greatly missed by her husband, family members, and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, August 8, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Munger Road and Alex-Bell Road in Centerville, Ohio. The Viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM followed by the Funeral Service at the church.

Interment will be conducted at David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
