Joseph Phillip Beach Sr.

Beach, Joseph P., Sr., age 87, of Beavercreek, died at his home on September 7, 2017. He was born on September 3, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy J. Beach, his parents, and 7 siblings. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Celeste, whom he married on June 9, 1951; 12 children, Joseph (Brenda) Beach, Jr., David (Connie) Beach, Gregory (Kim) Beach, Teresa (Larry) Bedwell, Rita (Fred) Scheidweiler, Julie (Tom) Armentrout, Timothy (deceased) and Karen Beach, Lisa Beach, Nicholas (Julia) Beach, Phillip (Melanie) Beach, Anthony Beach, Mary Ellen (Jonathan) Seiter. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Joe graduated from Patterson Co-op, served in the Ohio Air National Guard, and retired from General Motors after 31 years. Joe and Celeste were founding and active members of The Church of the Ascension in Kettering. Joe and Celeste enjoyed raising their 12 children while instilling good work ethics and family values. Joe also enjoyed reading, camping, fishing, gardening, and spending quality time with family. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive with Father Ed Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
