
Age 103, of Kettering, passed away July 12, 2015, at the Atha House AL. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Martha, his parents Edith and William Wanner, brother Robert, and sister Hilda Lindsey. Survived by brother, Jim Wanner; children David, James Alan, and Judi (Max) Weaver; grandchildren Joe (Michele) Wanner, Kirk (Jenn) Weaver, Scott Wanner and Eric Weaver; and five great-grandchildren, Grace, Allie and Anna Weaver, and Caden and MacKenzie Wanner. Born in Marion, OH on Oct.13,1911. Graduate of the University of Cincinnati School of Engineering, member of ROTC, Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma engineeringhonorary fraternities. Retired from Delco Products after 42 years in product engineering, member of the Dayton Engineers Club, Kiwanis of Kettering, Memorial Hall ushering volunteer for 45 years, and active member of South Park UM Church for 57 years. Joe and his wife enjoyed domestic and international travel, playing bridge, and entertaining friends and family. He loved his classical and big band music, and his daily exercise and walking kept him "young". Dad was our mentor, friend and loving father. A gathering of friends and family in remembrance of Joe will be held at Bethany Village Center Grand Room (6443 Bethany Village Dr., Centerville,OH 45459), July 25th, between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. A brief celebration of life is planned at 2:30 PM. The family thanks the staff at Atha, Bethany and Crossroads for their devoted care.
