Justin was a 2001 HSE baseball alumni.   This was my last year as HSE's varsity baseball coach.  Nothing but great memories of Justin both on and off the field.  Always happy, smiling, and so competitive.  To Justin's family - so sorry for your loss.  He was a special guy!

Justin was a great person and someone that would always take the time to stop and talk to you no matter what he was doing. Joe and Susan your unwavering commitment to your faith during this difficult time is something all of us could learn from. My prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sad to learn about Justin.  What a shock! He was very handsome like his father, that's for sure. I met Justin once at the service for your Dad.  He looked me in the eye, shook my hand and said nice to meet you.  Even at that age, he had that twinkle in his eye, just like you, Joe.  Prayers for the entire family in this time of need.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I always enjoyed talking to Justin at the dental office.   He was full of life and energy and spoke about his sisters kids and gave me tips on what protein powder to try etc   He will be missed.  I pray we will all meet again one day in heaven.

I knew Justin from hanging out with him in groups throughout the year, and although we weren’t close, he touched my life and affected it. It’s as everyone said at the memorial, he truly did leave anyone he talked to feeling like they were on top of the world. He always smiled, laughed stuff off, and was the life of the party. It is painful to know he has moved on,  but I am grateful that he was able to be a part of my life. 

Words are hard to come by today. I will miss your laugh, smile, and our conversations. You always had time for people no matter what you were currently doing. You were  genuine. Truly, one of a kind. Rest easy, my friend. Hope to see you again some day.

Joe, I am still in shock and disbelief after hearing of Justin's passing earlier today.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. A few times in life we are given the opportunity to know someone with a spirit so warm and authentic that it radiates from every ounce of their being.  This was Justin.

I cannot fathom the pain you and your family are experiencing during this loss, please accept my deepest condolences.  I will miss Justin greatly.  Working with Justin was always fun because he made it fun.  Even on difficult projects Justin found the humor in everything.  I looked forward to my visits at Alkermes with Justin because his joyful disposition, positive attitude, and high energy would turn a tough day into a good day.  The friendship you and Justin shared is a testimony to the joy a father and son can experience together not only through the younger years but also in the adult years.

This notice hit me hard this morning.  I only very recently got to know Justin through work.  I was genuinely smitten with his affable nature, self-deprecating banter, and huge sense of humor. I looked forward to every time we got to speak. So terrible to lose such a great person with promise, so young.  The world is a sadder place without you in it.


Joe - my heart breaks for you and your family.  I hope that over time, your tears will be lessened by the good memories and pride  that your Purdue graduate surely gave you.  Justin will missed, but not forgotten. Thanks for sharing him with us.

Justin was my "go-to" for book and podcast recommendations...for other super smart people in my life, more than for myself!  Anything I gave as a gift that he recommended was always met with "that was an excellent book!".  Justin always took time to talk about what podcast or book he had listened to on his way to work, and share the latest on his education, formal or otherwise.  I will surely miss his smile and genuinely happy nature.  

I had the pleasure of working with Justin over the last two years. He was always happy and in good spirits. He had a way of brightening everyone's day, and I believe he truly enjoyed making other people happy. He had a good heart and was always ready to lend a hand when anyone needed it. He will be missed. 

To the McCurdy Family, I am truly sorry for this tragic event and I cannot fathom how you must feel in your time of loss. My family and I offer our condolences and know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.  Justin was a good man who was thoughtful and giving to everyone he met. I am truly glad to have known Justin and I will miss our discussions about weightlifting in the company gym over lunch.

I would count Justin as one of my friends in this place. He was always easy to talk to and willing to answer any of my many questions about health and fitness, and even took the time to write out a detailed eating plan for me that I still try to follow. He had a huge heart and always had a smile on his face. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed.

Mr. and Mrs. McCurdy, Courtney,  and family,  Justin was a terrific neighbor.  The mention of his 'robust hello' in the obituary fits him perfectly, he would always give me an enthusiastic wave and shout hello when we'd see each other outside.   I will truly miss seeing him as we usually were on the same mowing schedule!  Holding Justin and your family in my heart and prayers.
