Kenneth Edmon Chasteen (Ken, Kenny), 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2022. A memorial service will be held on February 4, 2022, at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, OH, from 12-2 p.m.
Ken was born in La Marque, Texas, to Bennie and Sophie Chasteen. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, and PawPaw. He is survived by his wife Becky of 38 years; his mother Sophie, his son Chris, daughters Shana and Laura, daughter-in-law Iliana, son-in-law Eddie, his grandchildren Emma, Kara, Alyssa, Rylan, Amilia, Noah, Isaiah and great-grandchildren Blake and Ellie. His brothers Randy, Pat and Kerry reside in Texas. His passing is also felt by his beloved dogs, Karmma and Lei Lei, who were always by his side.
Ken was a hard-working man that loved his family and friends more than anything else. He was a kind man with a warm heart and a smile that would light up a room. He will always be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and unbound affection for his wife and family.
After a 19-year career with Verizon, Ken moved to Ohio and became a maintenance technician (“all that”) at Hohman Plating in Dayton, OH, since 2017 where his job and coworkers became a very big part of his life. He is remembered as a brother, friend and mentor to so many. Kenny took great pride in his work, and left a professional legacy behind that will be impossible to emulate. His meticulous attention to detail was evident to everyone he worked with, and his practical jokes made his workplace enjoyable for all.
Ken met the love of his life and future wife while the both worked at Brown & Root in Texas City as an electrician (“HotWire”). Ken and Becky went through every aspect of life together with a sincere love and dedication to each other that saw them through the toughest of times. Through all the trial and tribulations, they remained dedicated to each other every day of their marriage. Ken enjoyed Budweiser, classic rock, e-books, fishing, the 2nd Amendment and most of all making people laugh. He wore a Texas-sized grin under his baseball cap that will forever be etched in the minds of those that knew and loved him. He is holding a place for us in Heaven.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. at the Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432
