Loretto loved fresh strawberries, See’s chocolates, her black coffee, and an occasional glass of red wine. She also never went to a party or wedding without getting on the dance floor.
She enjoyed knitting, crochet, and needlepoint, and was so good at sewing her young children’s suits and dresses that the hand-me-downs would last for years.
She was very industrious and resourceful. In addition to working professionally to support her family, she also managed properties in behalf of her landlord and organized many, many work projects to maintain the property. She taught her children how to cook and developed the skills needed to can and preserve her large garden. Later in life she also served on her homeowners’ association board.
Loretto was a member of the Englewood, Ohio, Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had been an active Witness since being baptized alongside her husband in 1977, making many friends in various congregations in California, Ohio and even other countries. A memorial service will be held at the Englewood Kingdom Hall, 8986 Dog Leg Rd, Dayton, Ohio, 45414, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023.
