

Collmer, Marilyn J. departed peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Saturday January 7, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, David Franer and her father Albert H. Collmer and Mother, Ester Margaret Seeberger. She is survived by his children, Karen (Franer) Brennan and Allen Franer. Marilyn graduated with a MSW in Social Work from University of Denver, a BA in Social Service Admin. and Psychology from Salem College and Certified Business Analyst from Capital University. Her career began in Social Service Work and transitioned into Division Director Lima Area Chamber of Commerce; Vice President Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitors Bureau; Director Certified Business Analyst Hamilton Chamber Small Business Development Center; Owner/Manager Franer Apartments; President of Marilyn Collmer and Associates; Roost Real Estate Co. as Realtor and Property Manager. Her affiliations were with Downtown Ohio and Heritage Ohio, Inc.; Greater Dayton Real Estate Investors Association, Greater Dayton Board of Realtors; National Association of Realtors. She shared the love and joy of Ballroom dancing with her late husband, David Franer in social and competitive dancing. She was an avid football fan and a Steelers die hard rooter. She gave her time and energy to many social activities. She loved horses and during her youth honed her riding skills with her very own horse. She leaves behind her beloved and devoted two dogs, Gulliver and Vanna, now in the care of a close friend. She was loved, respected and admired by those whose lives she touched. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude are extended to all who provided care and assistance during her illness (Doctors, home healthcare providers, neighbors, and Hospice of Dayton) during her final journey. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Thursday January 12 2017 at ST. Anthony of Padua 820 Bowen St. Dayton, Ohio 45410 with burial in her hometown of Pittsburg, PA. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Wednesday January 11, 2017 at the Tobias Funeral Home-Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd.
