Melvin David Gentry

Gentry, Melvin “Bud” D., 95, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Thursday September 1, 2016 at Brighton Gardens of Washington Township. He was born October 21, 1920 to Willie and Ella (Brown) Gentry in Mt. Vernon, KY. , who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie (Goins) Gentry. Melvin is survived by two sons, Duane (Vickie) and Michael (Carol) Gentry; one granddaughter, Christine Gentry and special sisters-in-law, Barbara & Elaine Goins. Melvin was a faithful member of the Knollwood Church of Christ. He served in the US Army from 1942-1945, receiving a medal for good conduct. He loved fixing anything mechanical, especially lawnmowers. Funeral services will be held at 12PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of services on Tuesday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
