

Age 64, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Mike was in the first graduating class of Alter High School. He was a United States Army veteran proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Mike retired from Wright-Patterson AFB with 30 years of service. His greatest accomplishments were being a remarkable caring husband, father, and grandfather. Mike was a true and wonderful example of a family man. Mike was an avid tennis enthusiast, both playing and watching the game. One of Mike’s favorite vacation destinations was the ocean. He also loved getting his hands dirty in home remodeling and gardening projects. He is preceded in death by his father, Vincent Grommon; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bradley) Turner. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Susan (Bradley) Grommon; mother, Isabel Grommon; children, Shane and Leah Grommon of Beavercreek, Tiffany and Chris Mitchell of Bellbrook, Christopher Grommon of Kettering, Sarah Grommon of Kettering; grandchildren: Haley, Troy, Luke, Stella, Mason, and Nadia; brothers and sisters: Elizabeth (Joseph), Ian (Diane), James (Laurie), and Christine (David); Mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and Ned Bradley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy and Kathleen Bradley; brother-in-law, Joe Turner; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, followed by a memorial service at the funeral home and a private graveside service.
