We are so deeply sorry about Mick. We know it is devastating to all of you, who are his greatest treasures, and we share in your grief. We think the world of Mick and miss him tremendously. Very thankful to the Lord that I talked to Mick the night before he passed away. Our plans to come to the service have to be canceled, and we are heartbroken. Hope Adrianne received our phone call message about why! Praying the Lord brings you comfort and peace and that the love of family and friends help sustain you! Our hearts, love, thoughts, and prayers are with all of you.

We are so sorry to hear the passing of Mick....I'm not even sure how long ago it was that Mick became our CPA, but my husband and I always enjoyed our annual meeting with Mick and catching up over the past year. He was our trusted tax advisor and friend and we will certainly miss him.

Pam (and family)
Great sorrow at hearing about Mick's death.
The grade school/high school years continue to be cherished
times in my mind. Scouting, church, the crowd we ran with, all
Life's journey is oftentimes strange and inexplicable. Trying to explain or even understand it s just too frustrating. Better to just live it and be in the moment.
Hope you are doing "OK."

It’s hard to properly mourn Mick’s passing without reflecting on the individual that he was. And it is impossible to do that without smiling. A man of great depth and faith, he was equally at home arguing whether Jim Tressel was a great coach as he was arguing whether or not the second amendment gives my neighbor the right to own an Apache helicopter, or the exact moment in time when life actually begins (all of which was debated either on our deck or in a corner booth at Elsa’s). On a walk one day at Sugar Creek Reserve, I asked him a question about the Masons, and he said “do you want the 20-minute answer, the 2-hour answer or the 2-day seminar”. Mick could – and would – talk with great passion about, literally, anything. At the Buffalo Trace Distillery, he and the tour guide became so engrossed in their conversation about the history of bourbon, that the rest of the tour group eventually just wandered away.
Being backyard neighbors for more than 30 years, our kids grew up together and Pam, Mick, Chris and I have (slowly) grown old(er) together. We’ve shared the marriages of our kids, the birth of grandchildren, the passing of loved ones, holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. We’ve been family in every meaningful sense of the word. And when family passes, it hurts.
In the days ahead, there will be difficult moments, and many tears will be shed by those of us that loved Mick for the husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, patriot, … and friend … that he was. But he would be disappointed in us all if we didn’t take the time to smile, share the stories, and laugh at his expense.
We just miss our friend, and that’s ok. Rest in peace Mick, rest in peace.

Dear Pam, Adrianne, Christopher, and all of Mick's family,
I was shocked and greatly saddened to hear of Mick's death. You all are in my prayers and on my heart. I am so sorry for the sudden loss of this vibrant personality, your husband and father.
My first memory of Mick was when Beth (our daughter) and Adrianne were very young children. He knelt down on their level talking very directly with them and listening intently to whatever they had to say. He showed genuine interest and took the time to interact with them in a meaningful way---many adults tend to talk superficially with children---but he was thoughtful and very focused on them and whatever they had to share.
In recent years, I also appreciated having him handle my taxes. Mick was kind and patient with explanations and details---and in answering my questions. He was also very competent and thorough. He didn't just do the tax work, but took time for offering encouragement and support.
Mick was a very unique, intelligent person. No conversation with him was ever boring ! He also had an amazing smile. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Pam, Caroline, Ted, and the rest of Mick’s extended family.
My heart is saddened by the loss you must be feeling with the sudden passing of Mick. I grieve with you because Mick touched my heart in ways you may not know. We had many thoughtful and spiritual discussions that somehow were fueled by Mary Carol, who loved talking about the Holy Spirit and the importance of letting Him be our advocate. I can still see Mick and Mary Carol going head-to-head in their spirited conversations. Mick was much braver than I when engaging with Mary Carol.
Mick was always so friendly to me and I would never forget his invitation to call him if I needed to talk with someone about my PTSD. That’s who Mick was — a kind, caring and loving servant of Christ. I remember one time Mick and I had a conversation about the family of Grace. I was out in the fellowship hall when he came out from the sanctuary. I pulled him aside, pointed through the stain-glass windows to the congregation, and said something to the effect of … “See all the people inside the sanctuary? They are the family of God present within our church. We love each other. We know each other by name. And, we have been though many trials together as a church family.” Mick smiled at me and he knew exactly what I meant.
Mick was part of my family. When Nancy and I moved away, he was always quick to welcome us back when we visited Grace. He embodied the grace, kindness and love of one who was truly in Christ.
I will miss him. And when God calls me home, I have no doubt I will see Mick beside Mary Carol mesmerized by the teachings of Jesus.
