

PREWETT, Muriel Smith, 98, of Leisure World Mutual 4, passed over to heaven when she died Nov. 2, 2015 at Sunrise Senior Living, Seal Beach, CA. Muriel Prewett was born July26, 1917, in Dayton, Ohio to Edgar and Dorthea Martin. She graduated from Oakwood High School, Class of 1935, in Dayton and attended Wesleyan College in Ohio. She worked for the U.S. Army and Signal Corps during WWII .She married William F. Smith in Dayton, Ohio in 1942. After his death she married Clay W. Prewett in Lompoc, California, in 1982. She moved to Leisure World from Lompoc in 2003 after working as a homemaker and volunteer with hospitals and charities. She was a member of the LW Woman’s Club and St. Theodore’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed participating in LW card groups, bridge groups and dances at the clubhouses. She also enjoyed the LW Library and attending travel club trips. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Smith in 1980 and Prewett in 1984. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Margaret Williams of Reston, Virginia; son, Richard & Carol Smith of Nashua, New Hampshire; grandson, Richard Smith & Renée Magaña of Palo Alto, California, and granddaughter, Susan & Seth Connelly and great grandson, Isaac Connelly of Brookline, New Hampshire; Graveside service 2:30 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at David Cemetery Community Mausoleum Chapel.
