Nancy Bush Millhouse

Nancy was born March 19, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Fred and Florence (Davenport) Bush.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1959. On September 6, 1959, she married Jerome Rudy Millhouse. They have four children: Anne, Richard, John, and Michael. In the early years, Nancy focused on raising her family. Later she earned her license in Special Education and taught for 17 years at Lincoln Elementary and Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. She was actively involved in serving numerous organizations: Girl Scouts, College Women’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution (Regent of the Daniel Cooper Chapter), Colonial Dames (Concord Chapter), church and bell choirs, small group leader, Vacation Bible School teacher, and a volunteer at Hope Rising Pregnancy Center. She loved her country with a patriotic spirit and served her family with selfless devotion.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Florence, her brother, William, her sister, Sally (Bush) Seigworth, and her son-in-law, Walter Kelly Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jerome; her four children: Anne Kelly, Richard (Martha), John (Audra), and Michael (Linda). She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren: Jay (Taylor), David (Rylee), Hanna, Jocelyn (Daniel) Freas, Ben (Jessica), Liz (Jaxon) Schwitters, Jared, Gretchen, and Nathaniel. She was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Lucas and Milo. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Susan (Bush) Occelli, and brother-in-laws, Mario Occelli, David Seigworth, sister-in-law Mary Ann Bush; as well as her cousin and honorary sister Jean (Bowe) Strickland and husband, Allen.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m. preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Kirkmont Presbyterian Church, Beavercreek, Ohio.
