Nina McMillen, aged 101, passed away peacefully at her home in Miamisburg, Ohio on June 14, 2024. Born on December 22, 1922, in Cloverbottom, Kentucky, Nina was the daughter of the late William and Della Hurd Smith. Waiting in heaven are her siblings, Virgil Smith and Fanny Abrams, as well as her son, Gary Wild, who passed away in 1977.
Nina is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, William (Bill) McMillen, her grandchildren, Teresa Gonzales and Kathy Wilds and her great-grandchildren, Nick Baumeister and Candace Puebla. Her legacy of love extends further to her great-great-grandchildren: Julia Puebla, Loralie Puebla, William Puebla, and Baily Baumeister.
During her working years, Nina served as a punch press operator and inspector at General Motors in Moraine City, Ohio. It was there in 1969 that she met Bill McMillen, the love of her life. Their marriage in 1978 created a lasting bond that exemplified love, commitment, and shared adventures.
Nina’s heart overflowed with affection for her family. She made it her mission to express her care, appreciation, and love to Bill, her grandchildren, and an ever-growing circle of friends. Warm hugs and heartfelt words were her currency. Her greatest joy came from taking her grandchildren on memorable vacations, creating lasting family moments filled with happiness.
An adventurer at heart, Nina embraced life with zest. Whether motorcycling, boating, or exploring new destinations, she radiated joy and inspired those around her. And let’s not forget her love for fashion—Elder-Berman department store had a devoted customer in Nina. Some even say that when she stopped shopping there, the store felt her absence keenly.
