I have known Norman Hartman for about 28 years. My wife Linda and I joined New Life Fellowship all those years ago, because of Norman and his wonderful wife Norma. I will always treasure the time we spent together on our mission trips to El Salvador. I was lucky to be able to go on six trips to Central America with Norman and his daughter Cindy. I grew very close to him during our time together. We laughed, worked long hours, and even learned how to sew blankets for the young men and women of El Salvador. He had a great sense of humor, and was always telling me stories when we were alone together. I will miss him stopping by my classroom on Wednesday nights when I teach Royal Rangers. Linda said Norman and Norma will forever be missed at Wendy's also.

I have absolutely wonderful memories of Norman over the past few years. First, coming in to eat at Bob Evans with his lovely wife every Saturday morning. They were such a wonderful couple. When she passed on, their daughter, Cindy always made a point to come in to eat with him. He always had a smile and was so happy. I will keep them both in my heart and mind, as guests in the restaurant eventually become family and we look forward to seeing them each week. I'm sure they are happy to be reunited in heaven together❤️

I am one of the thousands of children that have attended EDCS. I knew Mr. Hartman to be a man of character. Whether he knew it or not he was a role model to me and other young men. He lived a life of service to God. When he meets God, God will surely say “well done good and faithful servant”.

I was having lunch with a friend at Bob Evans in Toledo. I looked
up and their was Norman. I don't think he was expecting to know
anyone at the restaurant. I ran over and gave him a Big Kiss. To
say the least he was Surprised, maybe a little embarrassed.
One of Bills memories is. He was eight years old and Norman
gave him a Hopalong Cassidy watch. That was a BIG Deal.

Mine is more a thought about the kindness in his smile. When Pastor Hartman smiled you could see it in his eyes, which is something I believe every one of you share. His smile was like a light for Jesus, and now when you smile know the smile is always there because he shared Jesus and his smile is now a part of all of You.
God Bless all of you and know we love and will miss him too.

Mr. & Mrs. Hartman were a true example of Christian love. They served the Lord in many ways , but especially in their guidance of children. Norman felt it was important enough to establish a school where children could grow spiritually as well as educationally.
It was my pleasure to work at the school with them. They always treated me with
Kindness, respect and love.

It was always fun to know we were both from Jeannette and Grapeville PA. His cousin Jeanie Bohink went to my Baptist church. My father’s name was Norman, too.
He was always willing to listen and give advice. I will miss him. See you later, Pastor Norman. ❤️

Mr. Hartman was one of the very finest individuals I have ever known in my 66 years of life. A quiet man with a sense of humor who dearly loved his wife and entire family with all his heart.

There is a sweet and sour to this for me. Sweet, knowing that he and his wife Norma are reunited in Heaven. Sour, the large empty spot from not being able to see him again until the day I reach Heaven.

Rest easy, Sir. You served above and beyond.
