

Oneita May (nee Elkins) Hall, 97 of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Born in Dayton, Ohio on August 26, 1928, was the daughter to the late Osmond “Red” and Ruby (Rutherford) Elkins.
Oneita grew up in Southern Hills in Kettering, Ohio. After graduating from Fairmont High School in 1946, she went to work in the offices of Frigidaire.
Oneita loved playing tennis, swimming, playing card games with grandchildren and reading. Later in life she learned to play golf and bridge. She loved being a part of the community she lived in. She volunteered for Kettering Hospital and helped with physical therapy sessions for handicapped children. Oneita was a part of the Kettering Sister City group and enjoyed traveling with them and hosting many new friends from Styria, Austria. She was always an active member of her church. She grew up attending Southern Hills UM Church and later became a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church.
Oneita will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother and Mimi. She was always kind, friendly, generous, and had a heart of gold. She was the “hostess with the mostess” making everyone feel welcomed. She loved her church and family. Family gatherings were many and she always made them special. Her grandchildren lit up her life and great grandchildren even more so.
Oneita was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harold F.B. Hall, grandson Jon Powell and sister-in-law Miriam Elkins. She is survived by a brother Barry Elkins, daughter Claudia (Ken) Boyer, son Steve (Joanne) Hall, grandchildren Brandon Powell, Patrick (Jacquelyn) Powell, Jackie Hall and Michael (Katie) Hall, great grandchildren Kaden, Reed and Emmett Powell. Oneita was blessed to have many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at David's Cemetery Community Mausoleum Chapel, 4600 Mad River Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429, with a Celebration of Oneita's Life at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Scott Nellis celebrating. Final resting place will be in David's Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
