

Hagerty, Patricia T., (Pat) 85, of Beavercreek, died peacefully on November 8th, 2014. She was born in Aurora, IL to Isabel and Frank Miller who preceded her in death, as did her three brothers, James, Robert, and William. Pat graduated from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame and moved to Dayton in 1951. She met and married Richard Hagerty in 1952 and is survived by their 4 children: Mike (Elaine), Mary Hagerty-Severns (Doug), Bill (Colleen), and Patrick (Carmie). She was called Grandma by twelve children she loved dearly. She worked at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and later taught at Oakwood High school. After teaching, she attended the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and studied with Virginia Satir to become a mental health therapist, specializing in chemical dependency. She worked at Greene Hall Treatment Center from 1979--89, followed by private practice. Pat was a past president of the Dayton Chapter of the Christ Child Society and volunteered at Woman Line and Eastway Corp. She served for years as membership chairman of the Miami Valley Garden Railway Society. She enjoyed spending time with and traveling with her children and grandkids, knitting, reading, and having fun with her friends from the Tuesday group, the train group, the knitting circle, the church ladies and other special friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home on Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist church on Friday November 14, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Lunch at the church following the Mass. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery following lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Child Society, St. Mary's College, Notre Dame or Smile Train.
