Patti grew up cheering, playing softball and tennis. She attended Wilbur Wright High School, graduating in 1978. She worked as an office administrator but her most current role was a Health Unit Coordinator at Kettering Medical Center.
Patti had many hobbies, but she was most at home sitting in a camping chair, peeling potatoes, surrounded by family and friends. Camping didn't always have a great outcome because of the weather, but Patti didn't mind. She had an easy going ability to take a tough circumstance and make everyone feel like it would be alright. She had an incredibly clever way of pulling resources together to provide for her family and children. Patti was a die-hard Bengals fan for life. Even though they let her down time and time again, she continued to show up in her Bengals gear with her swoon-worthy taco dip or cabbage rolls every game day.
Patti loved spending time with her family. She loved getting together to celebrate birthdays, achievements, cookouts, pool days, or watching a football game. Patti's kind spirit and welcoming nature made anyone she met an instant friend. Many friends she met over the years adopted her as their own, lovingly calling her "Aunt Patti". Her beloved sons, Andrew and Steven, were her entire world, and she was deeply proud of their personal achievements and extremely proud of them as fathers.
Above all, Patti loved her grandchildren. She would drop anything she was doing to race over and be with them. She spent a lot of her time watching them at their sporting events, cheer games, and dance recitals. They called her "Moggie", and we know it was her most loved title.
Patti leaves behind a trail of people who love her. Her loving sons, Andrew (Kristen) Lane, Steven (Shelbe) Lane; Sisters, Terri Shearer, Laurie (Bill) Sims; Nieces and Nephew; Erin (Richie) Moore, Sarah (Andrew) Morency, and Daniel (Karly) Sims, and life-long friend and her son's father, Brian Lane. Her 7 grandchildren, Alex, Lucy, Pearl, Marigold, Murphy, Duke, and Rudy will deeply miss their "Moggie". Patti is preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles Schoening and Virginia "Candy" Fine, as well as her brother-in-law, Dave Shearer.
Patti "Moggie" Lane will be missed dearly and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the weather warms up. Information will be posted on her and her family's social media pages.
