

Ted was born in Dayton, and graduated from Chaminade High School. He earned a bachelor degree from the University of Dayton and a master degree from Central Michigan University. He worked as a manufacturing engineer, and in retirement enjoyed substitute teaching.
Ted was a member of St Columbkille Catholic Church in Wilmington. He lived his faith by helping others. He was passionate about saving lives through blood donations and he donated 278 pints of his blood to the Community Blood Center of Dayton. He also volunteered with the Knights of Columbus, Greene Parks as a bike trail sentinel, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and various churches and schools.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Amelia Deis, his brother Richard Deis, and sister Shirley Heuing. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maureen; sister Ginger (Richard) Wald; a nephew and several nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 312 Fairground Rd, Xenia. Fr. Michael Holloran officiant. The family will receive friends at St. Brigid from 9:30 a.m - 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 6. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 6 at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Ave, Dayton.
