

IMIG, Paul Roland, age 88, died Oct. 14, 2012, at The Hospice of Dayton. He was born June 5, 1924, in Normal IL, to Paul and Eva Mary (Mallander) Imig. Mr. Imig, a World War II Army Air Corp and Air Force veteran and long-time NCR employee, was a 1942 graduate of Davenport H.S. in Davenport IA, for which he competed on the Blue Devils tennis team. He attended basic training at Fort Lee VA, including training with the quartermaster corps. He received IBM training at Fort Washington MD, and worked during World War II with Air Force confidential information systems at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, monitoring aircraft and fuel production and movement, both domestic and overseas. He retired in 1984 from a position in international marketing with NCR. Previously, he was with IBM in Dayton and Omaha NE. After retirement he learned to pilot small airplanes. Since 1984 he served as an emergency room weekly volunteer at Kettering Medical Center. He enjoyed automobiles, aircraft, woodworking, fixing things, and attending birds in his yard. He was a member of the National Museum of the Air Force, and enjoyed watching football, baseball, tennis, and racing. He is survived by daughter, Barbara I. Hancock of Centerville; daughter and son-in-law Marjorie I. and Craig Currier of Centerville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald P. and Sharon Imig of Westminster MA; grandchildren, Justin (Kathy) Hancock, Dori (Cory) VanAlstine, Clay and Mark Reynolds, Tyler (Heather) Imig, and Kelsey (Wes) Huber; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and a nephew; several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and former sister-in-law and husband, Marie and Kelly Denham of TX. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marion R. (Moore); brother, Ernest Charles Imig; sister, Eva “Sissy” Wallis; and son-in-law, David Reynolds.
