

Rau, Paul age 97, passed to his eternal life on Tuesday October 24, 2017. Born on December 22, 1919 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Fred and Irene Rau. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Rose Marie Rau and his siblings Roger Rau , Jim Rau, Jane Rau, Joe Rau and Martha Beall. He is survived by his sons Jerry (Sylvia), Gene (Linda), and Tim (Amy); grandchildren, Noelle, Jeremy and Ashley; great grandchildren, Anthony, Eva, and Tristan; brother, Fred (Helen) and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul served in the military, spent his career in the Tool and Die Industry and was an active member of the St. Charles Parish. He served as a role model to all especially in how he cared for his wife during her battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a devoted, gentle, caring, and optimistic husband, father and brother. He was an avid fisherman/hunter, loved sharing his garden tomatos, playing cards with fierce competiveness, attending coffee with his St. Charles daily mass friends and was quick with a story. The family would like to thank his caregivers at the Sanctuary, especially Chris, and the team from Hospice of Dayton. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Monday October 30, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45429. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
