Pete Anthony Mauro

MAURO, Pete Anthony Sr. of Kettering passed away Thursday November 10, 2016 at The Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Facility at the age of 79. He was born on June 26, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Pete and Maria Mauro. Pete graduated from Chaminade High School in 1955 then spent 4 years in the Air Force. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a wonderful husband and father who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Dominic Mauro, sister Rosie Sextro and brother in law Norman Flaker. Pete will be missed by his loving wife of 51 years Jeanne (Zimmerle), his children Pete Jr. (Tricia) Mauro of Odessa, Texas and Debra (Ben) Crokie of Hilliard, Ohio; his sister Maryann Flaker, brother in law Joe Sextro and sister in law Marilyn Mauro; his grandchildren Corbin and Pete III Mauro, Tyler and Owen Crokie and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Mass 10:30AM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, Ohio 45459; with Fr. Tom Schmidt celebrant. Inurnment will follow Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis of Assisi. Arrangements completed by the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel.
