Raymond C. “Ray” Johnson, age 74 of Beavercreek, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Hospitality Home of Xenia following a lengthy illness. He was born September 16, 1941 in Hazard, KY to Edgar and Katie (Combs) Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan (Griffith) Johnson. Three children also survive him: Greg and wife Ursula Johnson of Beavercreek, Beth and husband John Wiley of Dayton, and Ben Johnson of Beavercreek. He is also survived by a sister, Connie Johnson of KY, a brother, Larry and wife Patricia Johnson of New Carlisle, and his uncle, Lloyd Lynch of Riverside. Ray worked as a truck driver, for the Quality Beer Company and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam era, and an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Dayton. Friends may call on the family at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 23 from 1-2 PM. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM with Rev. Dr. Stephen Gill officiating.
