The Rev. Dr. Richard L. Rustad , age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015. Rev. Rustad was born in Buffalo, NY and attended Albion College in Michigan, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He graduated from Boston University School of Theology in 1961, and joined the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served Vienna, Strongsville, Boardman and North Canton congregations, retiring in 1997. He served as a chaplain for the Kettering Police Department for many years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra; a daughter, Carrie (Ron) Taylor, and grandchildren Matthew, Amanda and Alex; a son, Eric (Nichole) and grandchildren Emma and Cameron. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, March 22, at Normandy United Methodist Church, Centerville, where the family will receive visitors in Fellowship Hall following the service for light refreshments.
