
Richard S. Tyree Sr., age 70 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Tyree, two sisters, Mary Louise Edwards and Dorothy Mae Riber and four brothers: Joseph Wayne, Paul Eugene, John Donald and Bernard Hayden. He is survived by his children: son Richard Jr. and wife Tammy and daughters Dorothy Marie Goldsmith and husband Paul, Florence Mary Stallings and Pauline Freeman Sherwood, as well as two sisters, Shirley Ann Syx and Cecelia Marie McGraw. He is also survived by his fiancée, Dina Collier and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was a US Navy veteran and life member of VFW Post 9936 and AMVETS Post 33. He was a bus driver with Greyhound for many years and also worked as a security agent for several local security firms. Richard’s family would like to say a special thank you to his fiancée, Dina, for the many years of kindness and loving care she gave him. A memorial service will be held at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver on Tuesday evening, July 12, 2011 at 6:30 PM.
