Rita L. Eifert, age 94, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Rita was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late August and Mary Bertke. Rita is also preceded in death by her husband Paul of 67 years, and grandsons Troy and Jeremy Eifert.
She is survived by her sons Michael (Amy), Jeff (Patricia), Gary (Debbie), Don, and Ron (Kendra) Eifert; daughters Debbie (Rick) Franz, Brenda Eifert, Lynn (Dan) Meyer, Gail (Chris) Calhoun, Sharon (Mark) Rountree; brothers-in-law Melvin (Pat) Eifert, Earl Eifert; sisters-in-law Norma Salmon and Ann Eifert; and numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rita was a 1948 graduate of Wilbur Wright High School. She was an avid fisherman and a serious card player. She enjoyed attending and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, especially volleyball and basketball. She was the first to arrive at a party and one of the last to leave.
A visitation for Rita will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 820 Bowen St., Dayton, Ohio 45410.
Rita will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45409.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made in honor of Rita to St. Anthony Catholic Church or The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
