
JONES, Robert Joslyn (“Bob”) of Miami Township, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton, peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on December 14, 1929, to the late George William Jones and Rosamond Elizabeth York Jones Colby. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Following his graduation he served in the Army and was stationed in France during the Korean War. He was employed by Jones & Laughlin in Pittsburgh, SCOA in Columbus, and Dayco Corporation in Dayton. After retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at Cox Arboretum and spending time with the Miata Club of Dayton. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Margaret “Maggie” Prugh Wilson Jones, his daughters Beverly Anne Jones-DiSabatino of Old Bridge, New Jersey, Andrea Margaret Jones of Valparaiso, Indiana, sons-in-law Louis George DiSabatino, Jr. and Steven Robert Probst, and grandsons Wilson Louis DiSabatino, Bennett Robert DiSabatino, Owen York Barnes DiSabatino, Wyatt Robert Probst, and Lincoln Andrew Probst. Also survived by his sisters Nancy Rosamond Jones Stevens and Martha York Jones Tourtellot both of Providence, Rhode Island, sister-in-law Frances Helen Wilson of Pittsburgh, brother-in-law Edwin Prugh Wilson of Golden, Colorado, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Norman Francis Jones and George “Babe” Albert Jones and brother-in-law J. Vernon Wilson, Jr. Bob will be fondly remembered for his contagious smile and dedication to his family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road, and on Monday, February 2, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Centerville, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Hospice of Dayton and to family and friends for loving care and support.
