

ZWART, Rosalyn Alice of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the age of 80. She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Gladys (Knowles) Meyer; brother-in-law John Wesley Law; sister-in-law Carolyn Meyer. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne; two children Cheryl (Donald) Ennis and Paul (Sheryl) Zwart; brother Theodore Meyer; sister Deloris Law; grandchildren Alexander and Alyssa Ennis, Zachary and Bethany Zwart.
Rosalyn was a 1958 graduate of Fairborn High School and was active with the class reunion committee for more than 50 years.
After high school, Rosalyn began working at Wright Patterson AFB, where she met her husband, Wayne. Rosalyn and Wayne were married on June 25, 1966, and built a house in Beavercreek shortly thereafter, where they raised their family and it continues to be the family home. Rosalyn retired from Wright Patterson AFB in 1996, and enjoyed pursuing her hobbies in retirement.
She was a passionate gardener with many flower gardens that bloomed from spring to late fall, and loved to share her flowers and provide tours to any visitor who stopped by.
Rosalyn was an excellent host, chef and baker. She was known for her hospitality and her home was always open to friends and family, hosting many holiday gatherings. Family favorites at the dinner table included homemade pizza, lasagna, Trenton carrots and traditional Sunday Dinners. However, she was most famous for her amazing fruit pies, and even as a teenager, she won a blue ribbon for her pie at the Greene County fair.
Rosalyn was a talented seamstress, sewing many items throughout her life, including her sister Deloris’s wedding dress, her own wedding dress and all her bridesmaids’ dresses, as well as her daughter Cheryl’s wedding dress.
She was also an exceptional vocalist, singing in both church and community choirs, including the Beavercreek Melodeers and the Miami Valley Chorale. She was also a talented soloist lending her beautiful soprano voice to many church services and weddings.
Rosalyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their special events, such as baseball tournaments, swim meets, Show Choir competitions, Madrigals, band and choir concerts. When the grandchildren were younger she enjoyed playing at the park, mini-golf, board games and coloring Easter eggs with them.
During their 55 years of marriage, Wayne and Rosalyn were active members in their churches including the Kettering Christian Reformed Church, Hawker United Church of Christ and most recently South Dayton Presbyterian Church. They also enjoyed traveling together visiting many places around the globe including trips to see family, and trips visiting U.S. National Parks, Europe and Japan.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 15th from 2-4 PM, for a public visitation at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with a 4:00 PM service to follow. On Monday, the 16th, an 11AM burial will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery. Those planning to attend the graveside service should meet at Tobias Funeral Home no later than 10:30AM to join the processional to the National Cemetery.
