GIMBRONE, Rudolph John, age 81 of Centerville, died peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Thursday, September 21, 2017, surrounded by loving family. Rudy was born January 6, 1936 in Red Bank, NJ to Rudolph and Frances (Lucia) Gimbrone. Survived by wife of 20 years, Janis (Stafford) Gimbrone, daughter Gloria, son Gregory, step-children Mark (Robin) Brittelli, Mary (Johnathan) Ondrejka, and Robert Brittelli, and sisters Nancy Connors and Frances (Dominic) DiGiralomo. He fell in love with the game of golf caddying in Red Bank, New Jersey and played on the Air Force golf team during his military tour of duty. His love of golf led him to a career as the Golf Professional at Moraine Country Club for 27 years and this year he was inducted into his high school (Red Bank Catholic) 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 26 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 411 E. 2nd St., Dayton, OH 45402, followed by a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or St. Joseph’s Church.
