Sandra Kay Clifton

Sandra K. Clifton, age 78, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 28, 1947, Sandra was a proud graduate of Beavercreek High School, Class of 1966.

Sandra shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Carl Richard Clifton. Together they built a life centered on love, faith, family, and service to others.

She began her career in Human Resources before advancing to the role of Investigator for the Fraud Unit, where she provided valuable assistance to city prosecutors. Sandra later joined the Greene County Common Pleas Court as an adult probation officer and eventually accepted the position of Supervisor of the ISP unit.

She also worked under the Honorable Judges David Reid, Edward Kimmel, and Raymond Heiber in both Fairborn Municipal and Xenia Municipal Courts. Later, she became the director and Chief Probation Officer for the City of Xenia under Honorable Judge Raymond Heiber. Sandra proudly served as a Court Bailiff when needed and as a Special Deputy under Sheriff Jerry Erwin.

In 1986, Sandra earned her Paralegal Degree and continued her lifelong dedication to public service, social work, and law enforcement. She was deeply committed to helping others, including time spent supporting victims volunteering through a domestic violence shelter.

Sandra’s passions included riding her Harley, traveling—especially to Sturgis, South Dakota—rescuing animals, spending time with her beloved pit bulls, Beezer and Coco and waiting on her Purple Martins to arrive in the Spring.

She loved cooking, family gatherings, and holidays surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Sandra’s faith guided every aspect of her life. She loved the Lord, her family, and her community.

Sandra’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Carl; her children Kristina (Clifton) (Joe) Neal, Jodi (Brian) Clifton, and Derek Clifton; and her grandchildren: Codi Stage, Cory Stage, Chaise Coffey, Erika Neal, Nicholas Neal, Christian Neal, Joseph Neal, Dakota Clifton, Autumn Clifton, and Cannon Clifton. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Lillian and Elaina Stage, brothers David Furay, Scott (Patty) Furay, and Wayne Furay, and numerous other family members and friends. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and Mary Jo Furay, and her natural mother Mary Catherine Baird.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am – 12 pm on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Tom Myers. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
