In Loving Memory of Satish Makkar

It is with deep sorrow and boundless love that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Satish Makkar, who left us peacefully on July 4th, at the age of 88.

Born in Lahore in 1936, Satish lived a life marked by quiet strength, gentle kindness, and unwavering generosity. A man of dignity and humility, he was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need—never seeking recognition, only fulfillment in knowing he had made someone else's day just a little easier.

In 1967, he married the love of his life, Saroj. Their marriage was a true partnership built on respect, love, and shared dreams. Together, they built a beautiful life that took them from Delhi to Dubai in 1976 and later to Beavercreek Ohio in 1985, where they made their home and raised their family.

A gifted mechanical engineer by education, Satish combined technical skills with entrepreneurial spirit to run his own successful business. But beyond his work, his true pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his late son Hitesh, and daughter Poonam, and a doting grandfather to Raina, Shay, Anya, and Talin. Whether it was attending events, sharing his quiet wisdom, or simply enjoying a meal together, he cherished every moment with his loved ones.

Satish is survived by his beloved wife Saroj, his daughter-in-law Shalini, daughter Poonam, and son-in-law Ameet, and his four grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

He is now reunited with his beloved son Hitesh, whose memory remained ever-present in his heart.

Satish is also survived by his loving brother Jagish and sister-in-law Pushpa; nephew Vinit, and niece Sumi; along with a large and loving extended family.

He will be remembered for his calm demeanor, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. Satish taught us all the true meaning of integrity, selflessness, and love—and we are forever grateful for the time we had with him.

His absence leaves a deep void, but his spirit lives on in the values he instilled, the love he gave, and the legacy he leaves behind.

A private memorial service will be held in Beavercreek. Open services will be held at 4:30pm with dinner to follow at Om Shanti Hall at the Hindu Temple of Dayton located at 2615 Temple Ln, Beavercreek, OH 45431 on July 10th, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Satish's memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization close to the family’s heart.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
