

Thomas Clayton Osborne, age 89 of Kettering went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mattie and his loving dog Ginger, and survived by his son Timothy. Also preceding him are his parents, Mary and George Osborne; brothers and sister, Floyd, Raymond, and Bob Osborne and Bessie Varner; his grandparents who raised him when his mother died, Esther and George Poynter and his aunt and uncle who raised him from school age on, Laney and Agnes Poynter. He grew up with many cousins who he loved as siblings, some of whom preceded him in death: Warren, Marion, Bob, Delbert, Laney, and Donald Poynter; and some of whom survive him: Russell, George, and David Poynter. Also preceding him in death was his aunt Grace Poynter, who meant much to him. He also leaves behind his wife Helen Zechar and her children. Thomas retired from Dayton Walther as a pattern repairman, and attended Far Hills Community Church. He was a US Army veteran and member of the 82nd Airborne during WWII. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Woodland Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave, Dayton, with interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call 12 – 1 pm Saturday at the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 82nd Airborne, General Matthew B.
