Thomas Howard Swisher

Thomas Howard Swisher, age 82, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Danbury Senior Living Center. He was born in Dayton on August 16, 1942, the son of Howard Glen Swisher and Betty (Mains) Swisher. Tom was a graduate of Belmont High School Class of 1960. Tom married the love of his life Patti Lougeay on November 11, 1962. Tom was employed by Ohio Bell which later became Ameritech and then AT&T. When Ameritech and AT&T made their split in 1984, he started his own interconnect company, Tom’s Telephone Service, which he retired from in 2010.

Tom had many adventures over the years from camping, boating, fishing and hunting (duck and deer) with family and friends, taking the family on a vacation every year, to buying a summer home on Grand Lake St. Mary’s. After the kids left the nest, he and Patti rode Harley Davidson motorcycles all over the country. They snowmobiled in Michigan, Canada and Yellowstone National Park. Once they were both completely retired, they bought a winter home in Tavares, FL to get away from the harsh Ohio winters.

Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life Patricia Swisher, his parents, Howard Glen Swisher and Betty (Mains) Swisher. He is survived by his daughter Maryann (Larry) Bergman, his son Bill (Amanda) Swisher, 5 grandchildren: Danielle (Justin) Speers, Allison (Jordan) Woodie, Jacob, J.T. and Kailee Swisher and 7 great-grandchildren: Parker, Ava, Carter, Aubree Mackenzie, Anya and Amia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Danbury Senior Living Center and Day City Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion that they gave our father in the short amount of time he was in their care.
