How do I say goodbye to a man that changed my life? I cant! Tom had a big hand in shaping me as a young lady. He always believed in me. We made endless memories that mean everything, and through the years he shared many of my joys and pain. He helped lay a strong foundation that has helped me though life. He is a man that I love, a man that I am grateful to have known and to me, he will always be, "The World's Best Soccer Coach!"

Tom will be greatly missed at SportsPleX and in the entire soccer community. He was a positive influence on everyone he touched. He was fun to tease about his "U-4 Premier Team" in our rec leagues.  We always had to turn people away, requesting "that older guy, that's so good with Kids!" We could have filled 10 teams with requesting him as their coach.  I always kidded him about naming the small field after him, with all the time he spent on it.  We may now, just do that.  My heart goes out to the entire family. So sorry to hear the passing of Tom Owens.  What a great guy, friend and mentor.  We had so much fun at WPAFB.  Tom will be missed but never forgotten.  Prayers and God Bless To You All.

Donna and family,  We were so very sorry to hear of Tom's passing--since he was always so full of life, it is hard to realize that he is gone.  When you coach a soccer team you don't always realize what impact that has on the  players besides your own children--Tom was the first coach to tell Libby that if she worked hard she could play high school soccer--little did we ever imagine that that encouragment would take her all the way to college athletics at the University of Indianapolis, Academic All American and an NCAA Post Graduate scholarship. I have never met someone who could light up a room with just a laugh or a hilarious joke the way you did. Even though I only knew you for such a short time it was long enough to absolutely touch my heart. As promised from day one, I will forever be there for the boys you've so perfectly raised, and your beautiful wife whom I know will never find another. We all are so sad you left so soon, but we know we will see you again some day. Heaven just got a little brighter, and a whole lot of laughter. Rest In Peace Tom, and I cannot wait for the day you welcome me with open arms. Love forever!

Donna, I wish I had the words to heal the deep sorrow you feel. Tom's sense of humor was fantastic! Anyone that was ever around the two of you could feel the love you had for each other. Tom was a wonderful person.  He was clever, funny, cheerful and spontaneous.  He was a person whom everyone truly loved.  My son played for his team and this was the highlight of his soccer days.  Tom was his favorite coach ever!.  He will be missed by everyone.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel.  Tom was a wonderful friend and colleague.  Know that he truly enriched the lives of many with his untiring passion and love for the U.S. Air Force, soccer, and politics.
