

Tommie Edwards, age 88 of Beavercreek, was reunited in Heaven with his wife, Lorene Edwards on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Harmony Rehabilitation Center. She preceded him in death, following 50 years of marriage, in April of 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Sarah (Bradley) and Larkin E. Edwards, two sisters, Marie Strunk and Evelyn White, and four brothers: Ivan, Bobby, Earl and Ed “Birdie” Edwards. Two children survive him: Marsha (John) Leonard and Roger (Chrisy) Edwards. Four grandchildren also survive him: Justin (Angie) Grider, Megan (Chad) Sobota, Ethan Edwards and Alanna Edwards, as do four great-grandchildren: Lily Sobota, Cora Sobota, Madison Eilers and Nick Eilers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his dear friend, Pastor Larry Thomas. A World War II veteran of both the Army and Navy, he was employed at General Motors as a tool grinder for more than 40 years, working at both Frigidaire and Harrison Radiator. Tommie and Lorene were longtime members of Spaulding Road Church of God. Friends may call at the Spaulding Road Church of God, 1658 Spaulding Rd. Dayton, OH 45432 on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 10-11:30 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
