Verla Smiley Age 88 of Titusville, Florida and formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents William Floyd and Estella Mae (nee Amspaugh) Smiley, siblings twin sister Vera Smiley, William Smiley, Dorothy Lewis, Virginia Wallace, and Harold Smiley. She leaves to cherish her memories sister Maxine (Smiley) Greaf of FL, brother Frank of Indianapolis, IN, a special niece Marla and her husband Greg Helfinstine of Cocoa, FL, great-niece Sara Jones and Alan Stockdale of Enon, OH, great-nephew Andrew Helfinstine of Cocoa, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Verla was a member of East Dayton Church of the Brethren. Verla retired from Kettering Medical Center after 25 years of service. She was a dedicated blood donor and had donated 25 gallons of blood to the Community Blood Center of Dayton. She was an avid sports fan of the Cincinnati Reds and UD Flyers Basketball. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel with Pastor Gary Favor officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Zion Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, March 26. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
