Janning, William Eugene, age 84 of Lebanon passed away February 4, 2014. Bill served in the Army during the Korean War. He then began a long career in the manufacturing business and was known for his insight and hard work. He played in several bands in his younger years and could jitterbug with the best of them. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley, in 2007. They had been married for 56 years and she was the love of his life. He leaves behind seven children, Sharon (Fred) Kirchner of Dayton, Barb Bertrams of Virginia and Al Bertrams of Dayton, Cindy (Tom)Uttermohlen of Spring Valley, Dr Jeff Janning (Sherry Gevedon) of Maineville, Doug (Julie) Janning of Springboro, Julie (Terry) Maxson of Solon and Christie (Brooks) Charlton of Centerville as well as 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy (Don) Zimmerle and brothers John (Dee) Janning and Gene (Vermilda) Janning as well as brother-in-law Jack (Kathie) Haslup of Arizona and a host of loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Monday, February 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Centerville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the Church of the Incarnation with a notation made for the Tuition Aid for children.
