Wilma S Jackson

JACKSON, Wilma Sue, age 90 of Kettering, peacefully went home to be with the Lord November 13, 2020. She was born December 1, 1929 in Carthage, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Grover and Alberta Henry. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Edward Jackson, and her older brother Grover Henry. She is survived by her children, Michael (Angela), Daniel (Janice), and Susan; grandchildren, Kelsey (Ethan Owens) Jackson-Owens, Michael and Matthew Jackson, Leanna (Ty) McGuire, and Joshua Horn; great-granddaughters, Klaycee and Makenna McGuire; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Wilma was a member of the Kiser High School Class of 1947, the same year she married “the best husband in the world”. She worked in the payroll department at Huffman Manufacturing before a 40-year career bookkeeping at the family owned and operated Moraine Maintenance. Truly a faithful servant of God, Wilma was an active member of North Dayton Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kettering. She loved to sing in the choir, and touched countless lives as a Sunday School teacher for most of her adult life. Even with her diligence, Wilma found time to be light-hearted, especially with her beloved grandchildren. An expert conversationalist, she always said that “if you talk to someone long enough, you’ll make a connection”. Wilma was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed reading the newspaper, drinking her morning coffee, and above all, spending time with her family. Those who knew her will dearly miss her unconditional love. A graveside service for family will precede burial at Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Dr. Chad Keck officiating. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family sincerely thanks her caregivers, Lincoln Park Manor, and Hospice of Dayton.
