

Wilma Raye Schiering (nee Nutter), age 95, of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home. Raye was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on September 1, 1918. She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and attended both The Ohio State University and Wright State University. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Carlos P. Schiering, parents Ervin F. and Carrie (McDavid) Nutter, brother Ervin J. Nutter, sister Leone Weisenborn-Protsman, and granddaughters Carrie Rae and Rebecca Schiering. Raye is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, William J. and Shirley Schiering of Gahanna, Ohio, Kenneth L. Schiering of Beavercreek, and James R. and Jan Schiering of Westerville, Ohio. Also surviving her are ten grandchildren: Teresa (Norman) Monroe, James R. (Susan) Schiering II, Tanya (Scott) Boyd, Andrea (Brad) Wall, Kristin Schiering, Amy Schiering, Courtney (Joseph) Allgeier, Joshua Schiering, Paul Schiering, and Daniel Schiering. She is additionally survived by ten great-grandchildren: Rebecca Raye and Christopher Monroe; James R. III, Caleb and Joselyn Schiering; Micah and Jade Wall; and Logan, Maximus and Elliana Allgeier. Also surviving are her two sisters-in-law, Zoe Dell Nutter and Joan Schwab. Raye was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Beavercreek for almost fifty years, and was a long time member of the Daughters of The American Revolution (Jonathan Dayton Chapter) and the Beavercreek Republican Women’s Club. Additionally, she did volunteer work at St. Luke School and Kettering Medical Center. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Tuesday evening, April 22, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 PM. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 9:15 on Wednesday morning with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. with Fr. Terry Schneider officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio, following the Mass.
