Winola "Winnie" Kimmel Wheeler

WHEELER, Winola “Winnie” Kimmel, age 83, formerly of Beavercreek, OH went to be with her husband on Monday, April 23, 2012. She and Bert would have been married 60 years April 27. She joins many relatives and friends who preceded her in death and is survived by her beloved children; Cathy A. & Bob Becker of NC, Thomas L. Wheeler of CO, and Barbara Lynn Wheeler of OH; special nephew Phil & Marty Bennett; and many other family, friends and relatives. All who knew Mom will remember her radiant smile, kind heart, and “never knew a stranger” personality. She will watch over all of us and her devoted schnauzer Trinket, as Trinket watched over her these past 2 weeks. Thanks to Vitas Hospice and especially their continual care team – the best nurses ever! Also thanks to Senior Independence, Lincoln Park, Lori Kiley, a family friend, and of course B. Lynn who cared for both parents for many years. Winnie was a graduate of Northridge High School. She worked for many years at Suburban Door & Hardware. She was a longtime member of the Dayton Sweet Adelines and the Women’s Auxiliary of Dayton Eagles. Winnie volunteered at the Trinity gift shop and the Southview gift shop, and recently became of member of Hawker United Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 pm Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Hawker United Church of Christ, 1617 North Longview Dr., Beavercreek, OH 45432.
