Services for Mrs. Betty Waddell Hull will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00am at New Hope Methodist Church in DeKalb. The Rev. Steve Lampkin, Rev. Chris Gully and Rev. Mike Hunter will be officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home in DeKalb is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hull, 83, of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Meridian. She was a member of Mellen Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years. She lived her faith by sharing with others. She enjoyed arranging her flowers, reading her cookbooks & had a great love for cooking. She always put others before herself and was a gracious hostess at family gatherings. For 43 years, she looked forward to attending the 1st Cousins reunion at Percy Quinn State Park. She loved bragging on her grandchildren and great granddaughter and enjoyed attending all of their ballgames and being their #1 fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Durward Hull; parents: Arch and Annie Waddell and sister, Bobbie Jean Waddell.
She is survived by her son, Glen (Gail) Hull of Bogalusa, La; daughter, Lynn Hull of DeKalb; Mike (Jennifer) Hull of DeKalb; daughter, Teresa (Dave) Cvitanovich of Belle Chase, La; Patti Hull of DeKalb; grandchildren: Alicia (Tim) Hardy, Beth Hull, Michael Hull and Joshua Hoover; great granddaughter: Ava Grace Hardy; sisters: Bonnie (Al) Thomas and Kathryn (George) Nelson; brother: Keith (Shirley) Waddell; numerous nieces and nephews; and hundreds of others that called her “Granny”.
Pallbearers will be Al Thomas III, Brian Waddell, Dewayne Hull, Bob Yelverton, Kenneth Kitchens, Maury Hull, Michael Hull and Tim Hardy II. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Yelverton, Charles Ray Hull and Phil Hull.
Memorials may be made to Mellen Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Betty Hull.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00pm at Stephens Funeral Home in DeKalb and for 30 minutes before the service on Saturday at the church.
