

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Jerry Chenault officiating. Bobby will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Bobby is survived by his son, Robert D. Herbert; daughter, Cindy Herbert Yarbrough (Brian); stepdaughter, Kathy Baker (Wayne); grandchildren, Katherine Herbert, Nikki Nickerson (Eric), Kelsey Jeffreys (Bobby), Brylee Yarbrough, Crystal Morgan, Dusty Boatright, Jonathan Smith, Matthew Harrington, Mark Harrington, and Corey Harrington; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ann Herbert; stepson, Michael Harrington; parents, Clinton H. Herbert and Lillian Effie Means Herbert; siblings, Jack Herbert, Francis O’Brien, Willie “Tootsie” Cash, Carlton “Kaiser” Herbert, Ann Williams, Reggie Herbert, Tommy Herbert, Gayle Herbert, Billie Herbert, and R.W. “Chuck” Herbert.
Bobby was a gentle, humble, and selfless man whose greatest joy was serving others. He genuinely loved people and never missed an opportunity to share a kind word or wish someone a good day. His caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Bobby retired from Solutia after 28 years of dedicated service. Throughout the years, he enjoyed coaching softball and took great pleasure in visiting flea markets, collecting clocks, and tinkering with small machinery. Above all, Bobby treasured time spent with family and friends. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he considered them his greatest blessing.
A faithful member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Bobby loved his church family and lived a life that reflected his strong faith and servant’s heart.
Pallbearers will be Richard Herbert, Terry Sanders, Myles Ellison, Matthew Harrington, Donald Hood, and Dusty Boatright.

Though he will be deeply missed, Bobby’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
