Mrs. Charlsie Will Jones George, 92, of Decatur passed away peacefully Monday Oct 16th after a brief illness. Mrs. George was a homemaker, a skilled baker and cake decorator as well as a talented quilter who completed many quilts of her own design. Mrs. George raised five children, was grandmother to five, great-grandmother to nine, and great-great grandmother to two. Daughter of Wesley and Vera Jones.
Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband Clyde George. Children include Vance George and wife Patricia of Huntsville, AL, Adam George and wife Deedra of Helena, AL, Clay George of Tanner, AL, Natasha George of Decatur, AL, and Mark George and wife Melissa of Solway, TN.
Mrs. George is survived by her brother Leoid (Mike) Jones and nephew Michael Jones of Decatur. Mrs. George was a lifelong member of Basham Methodist Church and children's Sunday School teacher of many years at Basham. Mrs. George will be laid to rest at Basham’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service following at 3:00 PM at Basham Methodist Church. Burial will follow directly after the service.
