Funeral for Clinton Jerol Byrd, 82, of Decatur will be Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with J.T. Copeland and Richard Richie officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Byrd, who died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital, was born May 7, 1930, in Franklin County to A.P. and Selma Byrd. He was retired from Champion Paper. He was a member of Flint Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Busbey Byrd; three daughters, Rebecca Byrd, Sheila Mooney and Rosa Segars; five brothers, V.L. Byrd, Dallas Byrd, Doyal Byrd, Olen Lavern Byrd and Denzil Byrd; one sister, Marie Vest; four grandchildren, Christy Sheats, Joey Segars, Jenny Norwood and Tara Mooney; and seven great-grandchildren.
