Dovie Mae Freeman DeVine, 78, of Decatur died Saturday, February 11, 2012. Dovie was a beloved Mother and Nana. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jennie Freeman; her father, Robert Freeman; sister, Janette Norman; and niece, Kim Amos.
Dovie is survived by her sons, Barry (Yvette) Devine of Elkmont and Brian (Neika) DeVine of Decatur; brother, Rayburn Freeman of Decatur; grandchildren, Hannah DeVine and Grace DeVine and stepgrandchildren, Preston and Brooke Haggermaker. Dovie is also survived by four nephews, four great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church. Graveside will follow at New Oakland Cemetery in Athens.
Pallbearers are Preston Haggermaker, Russell Freeman, Marty Stricklin, Jerry Scott, Jason Patrick and Donnie Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff and Kirk Freeman.
