A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 2, for Edward Nelson Denton, 68, of Decatur at 11:30 a.m. at Burningtree Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Parker, of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Denton is survived by his sister; Margaret Minton and husband Jerry of Decatur; One nephew; Lyle Minton and wife Robin, of Huntsville; 3 great nephews, Gaines Minton, Oliver Minton, and Wesley Minton; and one great niece; Elinor Minton.
Mr. Denton was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Athens College and was a teacher for several years, working in Special Education. He also worked as a Security Guard. In his latter years, Mr. Denton worked as a Senior Companion for the Community Action Group of Alabama.
